Reasons I didn’t really want a Kane Chronicles/ Percy Jackson crossover.

Note: I hope I don’t get hate for this because I have read all three of Rick Riordan’s YA(oh wait, middle grade😒) books and consider myself a legit fan and all and in the fandom so….

1. Although I LOVE my demigods, I feel like the new series is sort of dragging Percy and Annabeth(and all the old guys, for that matter) out, character wise. Carter and Sadie, too. I’m totally down with short stories, but a whole series? I’m unsure how the heroes themselves will develop. And they(as Percy has mentioned) kind of deserve a rest.

2.SO MUCH CAN GO WRONG WITH DIFFERENT CULTURES. We’ve already seen how well merging gods go with the Greeks and Romans. It could so easily get confusing and crazy and ugh, I’m nervous.

3. One last thing is that I really enjoy the fact that the Percy books are separate from the Chronicles. I know a lot of people don’t like the Kane Chronicles for this, but it’s kinda why I love them. It’s a fresh outlook on gods in the modern world. It works differently and feels different and I love that. By merging them, the chronicles lose some of their…distance, I guess. I can’t really explain it.

So, while I’m worried, I’m sure Uncle Rick will write it in some sassy, spectacular fashion that will make me love it anyway. Still, I am not exactly excited for the merge. I am, however, excited to catch up with my two favorite pharaoh decedents…
